Work with Analytics
What is Analytics in Parta?
Transform Customer Education into a measurable, predictable revenue function through robust analytics.
Parta.io includes its own solution for collecting extended analytics, storing it in Parta.io Data Storage, and visualizing a large set of preconfigured reports—providing maximum convenience for the client.
Focus on:
Drop-off points and zones of declining attention throughout the course Interactive elements that receive little or no learner interaction;
Audio and video materials that are skipped, paused, or incompletely viewed;
Bottlenecks and sections requiring high effort, leading to exits or repeated returns;
Test anomalies such as mass failures, guessing patterns, or unrealistically fast responses;
Audience deviations where groups show abnormal results or implausible study times.
Result:
Identify reasons behind learner behavior, drop-offs, and anomalies;
Quickly spot and react to problem areas and bottlenecks Improve the quality and accuracy of course optimization;
Accelerate the search for causes of low attention, engagement, and satisfaction;
Optimize course design by focusing on the most engaging formats, structures, and elements.;
Avoid investment in low-performing content;
Align learning with business goals by linking outcomes to key metrics, clearly demonstrating the ROI of customer education.
Get started with Analytics

Go to Analytics tab.
Select an analytics tab
Choose the tab that matches the metric or report you need to review.
Available tabs:
Overview — Review learner activity, time spent, completion, and course outcomes;
Channels — Review activity across portals, LMSs, embeds, and launch domains;
Structure — Analyze attention, interruptions, and drop-off within a course;
Quizzes — Review quiz participation, results, and question-level performance;
Media — Analyze media reach, viewing depth, and audience behavior;
Reflection — Review learners' written responses to reflection elements.
Choose filters
Each analytics tab includes filters. Select the required filters before reviewing the data in that tab.
Available filters:
Course — Select one, several, or all courses;
Version — Review data for a specific course export;
Source — Limit results to a specific launch source;
Portal — Limit results to a specific portal;
Date — Restrict reporting to a selected date range;
Exclude anonymous — Remove activity from anonymous devices.
Overview Tab
What is Analytics Overview?
Use Overview tab to measure learner activity, time spent, and course completion.
Start here before investigating a specific channel, course structure, quiz, media file, or reflection. An attempt is one run through the course: on a portal the learner starts a new attempt by restarting the course, in an embed the attempt is tied to their browser, and in an LMS the LMS decides. Metrics counted per attempt rather than per learner say so.
Focus on
Learner reach and enrollment volume.
Sessions, learning time, and completion.
Trends that need further investigation.
Explore Overview Metrics
KPI
Enrollments
Course attempts started during the selected period.
Every separate attempt to take the course. On a portal a new attempt starts only when the learner explicitly restarts the course. In an embed the attempt is tied to the learner's browser and lasts until they clear browser data. In an LMS the rule belongs to the LMS.
Unique learners
Learners who opened the course.
Everyone who opened the course at least once, even for a second. There is no minimum time or activity. Anonymous learners are counted per device, so the same person on a phone and a laptop counts as two.
Total sessions
Tracked visits to the course during the period.
Every visit that actually opened the course. On a portal a whole attempt is usually one visit, so this number stays close to Enrollments. In an embed or an LMS every new browser tab, and a return after 30 minutes of inactivity, starts a new visit.
Total completions
Learners who finished the course during the period.
Learners who reached the end of the course at least once, in any of their attempts. Both passing and failing a final test count as finishing. Counted per learner: finishing twice still counts as one.
Charts
Activity trend
Enrollments, learners, sessions, and completions over the reporting period.
Reporting period, one bar per day, week, or month
Count
The four totals above the chart cover the whole filtered date range. They are not the sum of the visible bars.
Select Day, Week, or Month to regroup the bars. The totals do not change. The chart shows the last 10 periods that have data.
Hover over a bar to view every metric for that period. A learner active on three days appears on each of those days, so the daily bars can add up to more than the total.
Engagement
Sessions per learner
Average number of sessions for each learner.
All visits in the period ÷ all learners in the period. Example: 6 visits by 5 learners = 1.2.
Median session time
Middle session length. This reduces the effect of unusually long idle sessions.
All visits sorted by length; we take the one in the middle. Half the visits are shorter, half are longer. We use the middle value instead of the average so that one forgotten open tab cannot inflate the number.
Avg. time per learner
Average total learning time for each learner.
For each learner we add up the length of all their visits, then average across learners. Example: 225 s across 5 learners = 45 s.
Completion rate
Share of learners who finished the course.
Learners who reached the end at least once ÷ all learners who opened the course. Counted per learner, not per attempt or per visit. What counts as reaching the end depends on the course status format: when the course grades as passed or failed, both passing and failing count; in the other formats a failed result does not count as finished.
Drop-off rate
Share of visits that ended before the course was finished.
Visits where the learner left without finishing the course ÷ all visits. Counted per visit, not per learner: the same learner can leave several unfinished visits and still complete the course later. A visit stops counting as a drop-off only if the course was finished in that same visit, or within 5 minutes after it.
Channels Tab
What is Analytics Channels?
Use Channels to compare learner activity across distribution points. Review portals, LMSs, embeds, and standalone launches in one report.
Start here to compare acquisition and engagement across launch sources.
Focus on
Distribution channels with the most learners.
Channels that generate the most sessions.
Channels with lower progress or shorter learning time.
Review Channel Metrics
The Distribution channel details table groups data by Source and Distribution channel.
Source identifies how learners opened the course:
Portal
LMS
Embed — block, section, or project
Standalone
Distribution channel identifies the domain or host where the course launched.
Select any column heading to sort the table. Select it again to reverse the order. Direct / unknown appears in Source when the page address could not be detected. You may also see content.parta.io in Distribution channel: that is the Parta.io content host, not a customer site, and it appears when the embedding page did not pass its address.
Tables
The Distribution channel details table compares learner activity by launch source and domain.
Distribution channel details
Learner activity grouped by source and launch domain.
How learners opened the course: Portal, LMS, Embed, or Standalone.
Domain or host where the course launched.
Unique learners for the source and distribution channel.
Total learner sessions.
Average sessions for each learner.
For each visit we take the furthest point the learner reached, then average across the visits in this row. Counted per visit, not per learner: a learner who came twice and got to 20%, then 60%, contributes both numbers.
For each learner we add up the length of their visits in this row only, then average across the learners in this row. Visits through a different source or domain are not included.
All visits in this row sorted by length; we take the one in the middle. A learner with several visits contributes each of them separately.
An em dash in Avg. progress means the metric is unavailable for that row.
Charts
Learner distribution by channels ranks channels by unique learners. Session distribution by channels ranks them by total sessions.
The same channel uses the same color in both charts. Values are counts, not percentages.
Learner distribution by channels
Ranks distribution channels by unique learners.
Distribution channel
Learners
Session distribution by channels
Ranks distribution channels by total learner sessions.

Structure Tab
What is Analytics Structure?
Use Structure to identify the course sections and blocks that retain or lose learners. This report analyzes one course at a time.
Start here to identify drop-off points, repeated views, and difficult content. When exactly one course is selected, the Sessions filter offers First and All: First narrows the report to the first visit of each attempt, not to the learner's first visit ever.
Focus on
Learner progress through one course.
Sections and blocks with frequent interruptions.
Last-viewed content before learners leave.
Review Structure Metrics
Charts
The Learner distribution by course progress chart groups visits into eleven bars.
Ten bars cover 10% ranges from 0 to 100%, plus a separate 100% bar for learners who completed the course. Hover over a bar to view the learner count. Progress is taken per visit, so a learner who came back three times can appear in more than one bar.
Learner distribution by course progress
Groups visits by how far into the course they got.
Course progress, in 10% ranges plus 100%
Learners
Tables
The lesson table compares learner activity across lessons and blocks in the course.
The lesson table displays the course hierarchy. Top-level rows are content pages. Expand a page to view its blocks.
Select a lesson or block name to open it in the visual editor.
When All versions is selected, choose a specific version for precise comparisons.
Lesson and block activity
Learner activity for each lesson or block in the course.
Content page or block in the course hierarchy.
Content type of the row, such as content page or quiz.
Learners who visited the lesson or block.
Every time the item came into view. Returning to it counts again. Lessons and blocks are measured differently: a block counts as viewed once at least half of it is on screen, a lesson counts while the learner is on it, so a block can show more views than the lesson that contains it.
All the time all learners spent here, added up. It grows with audience size, not with content difficulty. Blocks are timed in parallel, so the blocks of a lesson can add up to more than the lesson itself.
For each learner we add up all the time they spent here across every visit, then take the middle value across learners. Half the learners spent less than this, half spent more.
Times learners left while viewing the item.
Sessions whose last viewed item was this lesson or block.
Quizzes Tab
What is Analytics Quizzes?
Use Quizzes to measure test participation, completion, and performance. Review the quiz funnel first, then identify questions that learners find difficult.
Start here before updating question wording, choices, or supporting course content.
Focus on
Learners who start and complete tests.
Pass rate and average score.
Questions with low accuracy or slow responses.
Review Quiz Metrics
KPI
Learners
Learners who submitted at least one test answer.
Distinct learners with at least one submitted answer
In progress
Attempts that started a test but never reached a result. Shown as a count, not a percentage.
Attempts with at least one submitted answer − attempts that reached a result.
Test completion
Share of test-takers who reached a result.
Attempts where at least one try of at least one test reached a result, passed or failed, both count, ÷ attempts that submitted at least one answer. It does not matter whether it was the first try or the fifth retry.
Pass rate
Share of test-takers who passed.
Attempts that passed a test at least once ÷ attempts that reached a result. A later failed retry does not cancel a pass that already counted.
Avg. score
Average best score across the course tests.
For each test in an attempt we take the best try, then average across all of them. An attempt that took three tests is counted three times, once per test.
An em dash in Pass rate or Avg. score means nothing in the current filter has been graded yet. Section header rows show em dashes in every column.
Tables
The question table compares learner performance across quiz questions.
Expand a section to review its questions.
Select a quiz name to open it in the course editor.
Select a column heading to sort the questions.
Question performance
Learner performance grouped by quiz question.
Question text, grouped by quiz section.
Learners who answered the question.
Submitted answers, including retries.
Share of correct submissions for this question, retries included. Counted per submission, not per learner.
Share of correct answers among first tries. One first try per attempt, not per learner.
Median time the question was visible.
Media Tab
What is Analytics Media?
Use Media to measure how learners engage with audio and video. Review reach, viewing depth, and playback behavior for each file.
Start here to find media that learners skip, stop early, or revisit.
Focus on
Learners who play audio or video.
Viewing depth and watch time.
Points where viewers stop or replay media.
Review Media Metrics
KPI
Unique viewers
Share of learners who played any media in the course.
Learners who started any media file at least once ÷ all learners who opened the course. Any interaction with the player counts as a play.
Views
Media views with at least three seconds of total watch time.
For each course attempt and each file we add up all the watch time; three seconds or more counts as one view. Watching the same file again within the same attempt adds to that view instead of creating a new one.
Avg view depth
Average position reached across all player events.
Every player event, play, pause, or a jump along the timeline, reports where the playhead was; we average all of them. Because every start and every jump back reports a low position, this number reads lower than how far learners actually got.
Median watch time per registration
Middle watch time for each learner registration.
Median total watch time per learner registration
An em dash in Unique viewers means no learner audience is available.
Tables
The media table compares learner engagement across media files.
Reach divides the file into 50 segments. Each segment represents 2% of the duration. Darker segments indicate that more viewers reached that point.
Hover over the reach strip to inspect a segment. The table is built from playback activity, so a media file that nobody has played does not appear in it at all. Type narrows both the cards and the table; Duration from and to filters the length of the files themselves and narrows only the table.
Select the underlined value in Views to open viewer details.
The dialog shows:
Plays — times the learner started playback.
Seeks — timeline jumps during playback.
Back — returns to an earlier point.
Seeks per play — average timeline jumps for each play.
Media file engagement
Learner engagement for each media file in the course.
Name of the video or audio file.
Unique learners who played the file.
Views with at least three seconds of watch time.
Times learners started playback.
Average playback position reached.
Furthest playback position reached.
Viewer reach across the media timeline.
Reflection Tab
What is Analytics Reflection?
Use Reflection to review learners' written responses. This report shows the latest response for each learner and reflection element.
Start here to identify recurring feedback, questions, and concerns.
Focus on
Recurring themes in learner responses.
Questions and concerns about course content.
Feedback changes after content updates.
Review Reflection Responses
Tables
The Reflections table lists the latest response for each course, reflection block, and learner combination.
Reflections
Latest response for each course, reflection block, and learner combination.
Course containing the reflection element.
Reflection element where the learner submitted the response.
Time of the learner's latest response.
Learner name, email, account identifier, or Anonymous.
Full text of the learner's latest response.
If a learner submits several answers to the same reflection element, the table shows only the most recent answer. A response is saved when the learner moves on in the course, so an answer typed right before closing the browser tab may not reach Analytics.

Count
