Mapping

What is a Mapping Element?

A mapping element creates association-based assessments where learners match related items across two columns.

It’s ideal for testing understanding of relationships, concept connections, or paired information through an interactive matching interface.

Edit General Mapping Element Settings

Open a mapping element settings window to start editing.

Setting

Display feedback icon

Shows / hides the feedback icons next to the answers.

Select an option:

  • Click Yes to enable the feedback icons;

  • Click No to hide the feedback icons.

Display feedback

Shows / hides the Feedback type: general option.

Select an option:

  • Click Yes to enable the feedback option;

  • Click No to hide the feedback field.

Feedback type: general

Enable the Display feedback option to show the setting.

Allows to set general feedback.

Select an option from the drop-down menu:

  • Correct/Incorrect: Displays feedback depending on whether the lists comparing was correct or incorrect;

  • Any Response: Displays informational feedback regardless of whether the lists comparing was correct or incorrect.

The changes will be saved automatically.

Manage Answers and Feedback

Select a mapping element to start editing.

Add an answer option

Click on the + icon.

Edit answer text

Click on the answer text and enter a new value.

Delete an answer option

Click on the x icon.

Edit general feedback text

a. Enable general feedback option; b. Click on the True/False icon to switch between feedback options for correct and incorrect answers; c. Click on the feedback text and enter a new value.

The changes will be saved automatically.
