# Localize a course manually ### Translate course content To facilitate the translation of the contents of your course, and save your time on adding it to the platform, you can use Course translation. You'll need to export your course in one of the possible formats (XLIFF or CVS), process and edit it, and then upload the translated version back to the platform. \ \ When you import a translated file, the system creates a separate copy of the course so that you can save the original version.

{% hint style="info" %} Keep in mind that in addition to the contents, you also need to translate system labels: designations of interface elements and tooltips. You can replace them manually or select the appropriate language in the course settings (on the “Labels settings” tab). {% endhint %} ### Translate system labels Setting up Labels allows you to translate system texts into the language of your choice. You can either change them into a needed language manually (see descriptions below), or use our pre-made translations for the most used ones. To do that, go to **"Project" - "Settings" - "Labels settings" - "Set default"** - Select the language.

### System labels description Here's the list of all the labels available for translation and their descriptions: **Course menu tip:** Hover tooltip on menu button.

**Tip course Menu: Closing:** Hover tooltip on collapse menu button.

**Section Name: Content page:** Tooltip in Project navigation sidebar, for the Content page section.

**Section Name: Quiz** **:** Tooltip in Project navigation sidebar, for the **quiz** section.

**Section Name: Cover:** Tooltip in Project navigation sidebar, for the Cover.

**Name sections:Hint:** Placeholder text for any empty section name.

**Hint:Number of blocks:** Tooltip in Project navigation sidebar: N blocks.

**Hint: Number of questions:** Tooltip in Project navigation sidebar: N questions.

**Button "Continue course":** Navigation button on the cover, to continue completing the course.

**Start course button:** Navigation button on the cover, to launch the course.

**Back button in navigation:** Navigation button at the end of the section, to return to the previous one.

**Continue button in navigation:** Navigation button at the end of the section, to move to the next one.

**"End course" button:** Navigation button at the end of the section, to complete the course.

**Title in the course completion window:** Modal window title text.

**Body text in the course completion window:** Modal window message text.

**Button in the course completion window:** Modal window button text.

**Button:** Placeholder text for an empty button name.

**Continue button tooltip:** Tooltip for blocked continue button with condition.

**Element Embedded code:** A hint if the browser does not support this functionality. **Element Grouping:Group:** A placeholder text for an empty answer.

**Element Grouping:Result:** Text for result: N cards correct.

**Element Grouping:Repeat:** Caption for a retry.

**Element Link:** Placeholder text for an empty link.

**Element Slider: Start:** The first slide in the element with "Loop" condition.

**Element Slider: End:** The last slide in the element with "Loop" condition.

**Element Video/Audio:Sound:** Volume setting naming in the element's control panel.

**Attempts in progress in the quiz** **:** Naming for the Attempts in the progress bar

**Number of attempts in progress in the quiz** **:** Attempt: 1 out of N.

**Element Keyboard Input Tooltip:** Answer input tooltip.

**Item Description/Quiz** **Status: Quantity:** The number of attempts is 1 out of 1.

**Item Description/Quiz** **State: Restriction:** Unlimited number of quiz repetitions.

**Item Description/Quiz** **Status:** Time: Text for quiz sections with a time limit.

**A hint for the "Try again" button in the Content page:** A hint that appears when the quiz retries setting is set in a question in the Content page.
